LocationsThis year, there are a total of 6 locations throughout Davis to choose from! Scouted for the most beautiful blooms, these six locations offer a variety of spring splendor, from bright pink ornamental plum blossoms to the stunning white petals of calla lilies. Each location has been assigned shoot dates based on the estimated optimal bloom period for that location. But, please note: mother nature may do what she wants! Weather may be uncooperative, and blooms may be early or late. Regardless, each location boasts beautiful scenery and interesting backgrounds, so you're sure to get lovely photos no matter what mother nature decides! Wildhorse Greenbelt - Sandy Motley ParkAccess to the beautiful Wildhorse Greenbelt via Sandy Motley Park, located adjacent to Nugget Fields in Davis. Greenbelt features at this location include crabapple and ornamental pear trees with bright pink blooms, Bradford pear trees with white blooms, blue rosemary blooms, purple flowering groundcover, seasonal bulbs, lush greenery, and stunning sky views. A great location for kids as well, with proximity to the Oak Grove playground! Meeting Point: Covered picnic benches - Sandy Motley Park Parking: Nugget Fields parking Lot, or streetside along Moore Blvd Available Dates: February 22/23; March 1/2, 8/9, 15/16, 22/23, 29/30 Wildhorse Greenbelt - Moore & RaphaelThis portion of the Wildhorse Greenbelt, accessed from Moore Blvd which it abuts, features a host of ornamental plum trees and Bradford pears which bloom for a limited time in early spring. If you're looking for spectacular pink or white tree blooms, this is an ideal location! Meeting Point: Vitacourse Exercise Bars - Wildhorse Greenbelt Path along Moore Blvd near Raphael Place. Parking: Streetside along Moore Blvd, Raphael Place, or Whistler Court. Available Dates: February 22/23; March 1/2 UC Davis Arboretum - Redbud CollectionNote: Above images were not photographed at this UC Davis location. They are intended to demonstrate blooming redbud trees only. The UCD Arboretum Redbud collection is a new location for 2025. Redbud trees produce stunningly bright, dense, magenta blooms, and the UC Davis Arboretum's redbud collection is a gorgeous example of this tree's splendor! Planted along Putah creek and dotting a meandering paved path with scenic benches along the water front, this location is perfect if you're looking for popping colors. It also offers a great view of the iconic UC Davis water tower. Meeting Point: Warren G. Roberts Redbud Collection - UC Davis Arboretum Parking: Visitor parking lot 2 or 1 Shields Ave garage Available Dates: March 8/9, 15/16, 22/23, 29/30; April 5/6 UC Davis Arboretum - WestA stunning location filled with blooming flowers and trees, including quince, ornamental plum, crabapple, calla lilies, roses, wildflowers, Iris, and more. With such a diversity of plants, it is a great location choose to ensure beautiful spring flowers as there is always something blooming throughout the season. Meeting Point: Ruth Risdon Storer Garden - UC Davis Arboretum, West Parking: Streetside along Garrod Drive or Visitor Parking Lot 55 Available Dates: March 8/9, 15/16, 22/23, 29/30; April 5/6 Oak Grove ParkHome to flowering wild onion, redbud trees and a row of cherry trees along Donner Ave, with beautiful views of the Beryessa mountains along the Poleline stretch of the Wildhorse Greenbelt. A great location for kids as well, with proximity to the Oak Grove playground! Meeting Point: Basketball Court - Oak Grove Park Parking: Streetside along Donner Ave Available Dates: March 22/23, 29/30; April 5/6 Central Park GardenThe Central Park Gardens are home to an several cherry, apricot, and plum trees, in addition to a variety of flowering plants and a young magnolia tree. Features include a walking path, public art and sculpture, as well as picturesque park benches. Please note: Central Park is host to multiple weekend events, including the Davis Farmers Market (Every Saturday from 8am-1pm), and the Davis Craft and Vintage Fair (every other Sunday from 10am-4pm).
